24.03.2025**Shubman Gill Joins Gujarat Titans for IPL 2025**
Renowned Indian batsman and captain of the Gujarat Titans (GT), Shubman Gill, has arrived in Ahmedabad ahead of the much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Gujarat Titans’ official social media presence on X announced Gill’s arrival, signaling the team’s preparation for their inaugural match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the esteemed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The forthcoming season provides Shubman with an opportunity to recover from last year’s underwhelming campaign. After securing the IPL title in their debut year, 2022, and a runner-up position in 2023, the Gujarat Titans faced a dip in performance, culminating in an eighth-place finish in 2024. The team concluded the season with just five victories out of 14 matches, alongside seven defeats and two games labeled as no results.
A recent tweet from Gujarat Titans, accompanied by a photograph of Gill arriving amid a vibrant display of fireworks and traditional dance, expressed the team’s enthusiasm: “Shub ghadi che aavi!” This season is especially significant, as the team adapts to a leadership change following the return of their former captain Hardik Pandya to his original team, the Mumbai Indians, in a move that sparked considerable controversy.
Gill’s personal performance in the previous season was below his usual standards; he amassed 426 runs in 12 innings, averaging 38.72 with a strike rate exceeding 147, including a century and two half-centuries. This contrasted sharply with his prolific 2023 season, where he led the scoring charts with an impressive 890 runs across 17 matches, holding an average of 59.33, a strike rate of 157.80, and securing three centuries and four half-centuries. Notably, the 25-year-old remains GT’s all-time leading run-scorer, having accumulated 1,799 runs in 45 matches at an average of 44.97 and a strike rate of 147.70, comprising four centuries and ten fifties, with his highest score being 129.
