26.03.2025Cricket South Africa’s Central Contracts for Women 2025-26:
Cricket South Africa (CSA) has taken a significant step in enhancing their women’s cricket profile by awarding a maiden central contract to promising all-rounder Annerie Dercksen for the 2025-26 season. Notably absent from the 15-player roster, disclosed on Monday, are all-rounder Delmi Tucker and batter Lara Goodall.
Dercksen, at just 23, made her international debut in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches in 2024 and has since represented South Africa in two Tests and four ODIs. Her remarkable contributions on the field were further recognized when she received the ICC Emerging Women’s Player of the Year award in 2024. She also made her inaugural appearance in a Twenty20 International (T20I) for South Africa in January 2023.
Commenting on the contracts, Enoch Nkwe, CSA’s Executive for National Teams and High Performance, expressed pride in the assembly of the Proteas Women’s contracted ensemble for the upcoming season. “This squad exemplifies the immense talent and potential present in South African women’s cricket. The inclusion of Annerie Dercksen, who has consistently impressed with her performances, marks a significant milestone in her career,” Nkwe stated.
“The team’s continued success is evident in their consecutive World Cup final appearances, reflecting CSA’s commitment to recognizing persistent excellence. As we brace for a crucial year with the ICC Women’s World Cup in India, this squad strikes a harmonious blend of seasoned experience and youthful vigor, positioning us well for competition at the highest level,” Nkwe added.
The 2025-26 Contracted Squad includes: Anneke Bosch, Tazmin Brits, Nadine de Klerk, Annerie Dercksen, Ayanda Hlubi, Sinalo Jafta, Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka, Masabata Klaas, Sune Luus, Eliz-Mari Marx, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Tumi Sekhukhune, Chloe Tryon, and Laura Wolvaardt.
