Renowned spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has expressed skepticism regarding the notion that a strong performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) could facilitate Shreyas Iyer’s selection for the Indian Test team. Nonetheless, Ashwin commended Iyer’s outstanding performance during the five-match stretch in the Champions Trophy. As a former Indian cricketer, Ashwin anticipates Iyer will sustain this momentum in the IPL, where he will represent the Punjab Kings. “Shreyas Iyer has shown exceptional form. Given his contributions in the Champions Trophy, it wouldn’t be surprising if he excels in the IPL. He is a remarkable player, pivotal in Kolkata Knight Riders’ title triumph last season,” Ashwin elaborated.
