Mumbai Indians have enlisted the services of South African bowling all-rounder Corbin Bosch as a replacement for Lizaad Williams, who has been sidelined from the IPL 2025 campaign due to a knee injury. Williams, who had been acquired by the franchise for his base price of INR 75 Lakh, continues to battle the injury that previously excluded him from the SA20 earlier this year, rendering him unfit for participation with the five-time IPL champions.
Bosch, who remained unsold during the mega auction, finds himself in familiar territory having been a part of the MI Cape Town squad in the SA20. In the tournament, he claimed 11 wickets across eight matches, showcasing impressive performances, including standout figures of 4 for 19 against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Additionally, Bosch was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the recent PSL Draft for the 2025 season, scheduled from April 11 to May 18, coinciding with the IPL season, which runs from March 22 to May 25.
This stint marks Bosch’s second opportunity in the IPL. Previously, he was involved with the Rajasthan Royals as a net bowler and was subsequently enlisted as a replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile. However, Bosch has not yet played a match in the league.
On an international front, Bosch made his Test debut against Pakistan during the Boxing Day Test in Centurion in 2024, shortly after his debut in the 50-over format against the same opposition in Johannesburg. He was also drafted as a replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje in South Africa’s squad for the Champions Trophy.
