26.03.2025### Rahul Dravid Attends Rajasthan Royals Training in a Wheelchair – Video Astonishes Fans
As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 approaches, Rajasthan Royals’ head coach, Rahul Dravid, was seen navigating the training ground in an electric wheelchair, leaving fans both surprised and concerned. This development follows an injury to Dravid’s left leg, sustained during a club match in Bengaluru. Despite his mobility challenges, Dravid is evidently dedicated to overseeing his team’s preparations for the forthcoming season.
The incident came to light through a viral video on social media, capturing Dravid maneuvering around the training facility. The visuals sparked widespread curiosity among fans regarding the severity of Dravid’s injury. Yet, true to his character, the former Indian coach remains undeterred, displaying an unwavering commitment to his role with the Rajasthan Royals.
Dravid’s injury occurred while representing the Vijaya Cricket Club in the Karnataka State Cricket Association Group I, League III semifinal for the Sri Nassur Memorial Shield. An official post from the Royals showcased Dravid in a cast, updating fans on his recovery and confirming his presence in Jaipur for team activities despite the setback.
Dravid’s return to the cricket field earlier this year was marked by a match alongside his son, Anvay, in a KSCA Group I, Division III league fixture. Playing for Vijaya Cricket Club (Malur), the duo faced the Young Lions Club in Bengaluru. During the game, Dravid briefly batted at No. 6, contributing a 10-run cameo off eight balls before being dismissed by spinner AR Ullas.
His commitment was further exemplified in the semifinal against Jayanagar Cricketers, where, despite injury-induced discomfort, he participated in a 66-ball 43-run partnership with his son Anvay. Courageously playing through pain, he eventually required assistance to leave the field, although his resilience was not enough to secure a victory for the Vijaya Cricket Club.
Looking ahead, the Rajasthan Royals, IPL champions in, 2008 and finalists in 2022, are slated to commence their 2025 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on March 23.
