**ENGLISH COUNTY**: Shan Masood Signs Comprehensive All-Format Contract with Leicestershire

Leicestershire has secured the services of Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood on an all-format contract for the 2025 season, according to an announcement by the club. Masood, who will join Leicestershire in mid-May following his commitments in the Pakistan Super League, is set to make his T20 Blast debut for the team on May 31.

This engagement with Leicestershire marks Masood’s third stint in the English county circuit. He delivered an exceptional performance with Derbyshire in 2022 and has been with Yorkshire for the past two years, leading the team to a promotion to Division One last season as captain. For the upcoming season, Masood will be Leicestershire’s third overseas player, joining forces with new captain Peter Handscomb and Netherlands international Logan van Beek.

While Masood hasn’t featured in a T20I for Pakistan since the 2022 T20 World Cup final and last played an ODI in May 2023, he recently captained Pakistan to a remarkable Test series victory at home against England. In his illustrious career, Masood has played 70 matches for Pakistan across formats and boasts an outstanding first-class cricket record, amassing close to 12,000 runs.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Masood stated, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to represent Leicestershire in all three formats. The club has always held my admiration, and I’ve had brilliant conversations with the team over the past three seasons.
